Another cookbook dedicated to southern cooks and foodways. Praisesong is equal parts memoir and manual for Afro-Appalachian food.

We can't talk about African American women in food without showing reverence to Toni Tipton-Martin. This is one of multiple cookbooks she has compiled on food traditions of black people in the US and abroad.
